Brown Fellows Program

Welcome to the Brown Fellows Program

2011 Brown Fellows Visit Italy! The Brown Fellows Program was established by the James Graham Brown Foundation to build leadership capability and to invest in the intellectual capital of the Commonwealth.  Brown Fellows is an individualized development program that provides a diverse group of students the opportunity to build leadership skills through academic enrichment, expanded opportunity and personal accountability.

The Brown Fellows Program is unique in that it is a single initiative that spans two campuses.  In partnership with Centre College and the University of Louisville, Brown Fellows receive full tuition, room and board and will participate in an extraordinary summer program featuring international travel as a group before freshman year.  Fellows also receive an enhanced academic experience consisting of individual study, field-based experiential learning and community service.  Each student will have an on campus mentor, engage in enrichment opportunities and manage a customized Leadership Project.  In successive years the program will focus on the individual student to provide an extraordinary summer enrichment experience focused in thematic areas of service, international research and study, and leadership.

Eligibility and selection criteria include scholastic attainment, intellectual leadership, visionary thinking, and exemplary community involvement.  Additional consideration will be given for a demonstrated ability to overcome adversity, as well as a willingness and ability to serve as an ambassador for Kentucky. Learn more.

And don't forget to check out the 2011 Summer Enrichment Symposium presentations. You won't believe what the Brown Fellows have been up to.
