Albert Anastasio graduated from University Laboratory High School (ULHS) in Urbana, Illinois. At Centre College he plans to pursue a pre-med track with a minor in Spanish. Albert is an Illinois State Scholar and received the Sons of the American Revolution Good Citizenship Award. He also received the Illinois High School Association Scholastic Achievement Award, the ULHS Spanish program award, and the ULHS Athlete of the Year and Athletic Director’s Awards. Albert captained the cross country and track teams and qualified for state 6 times and was all-state his senior year in cross country. He holds ULHS records in both cross country and the 3200 meter run. He volunteered 6 weeks last summer in rural Paraguay, building energy efficient brick stoves and developing vacation camps for area youth. He has also built homes with Habitat for Humanity in rural Mississippi, and worked with the developmentally disabled through L’Arche in Seattle, Washington.
