Ashley El Rady, Class of 2011

Ashley El Rady graduated from Assumption High School in Louisville, Kentucky. She served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at St. Edward Church. She also volunteered at GuardiaCare Adult Day Center, the STAR Camp for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, and started the GIFT (Give Inspiration and Food for Thought) Book Drive to collect new and gently used books for the children at St. Joseph Children’s Home. Ashley was President of the National Honor Society, Captain of the Track and Cross Country Teams, and a Student Council Representative. She was also a member of the Beta Club, the Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, and a Peer Leader, encouraging students to live a drug-free and alcohol-free lifestyle. She participated in the Governor’s Scholars Program at Murray State University and was chosen to be a Churchill Downs Winner’s Circle Governor’s Scholar. Ashley was on the Principal’s List and received the President’s Education Award, AP Scholar with Distinction Award, and the Assumption Alumnae Award. She received the Most Valuable Athlete Award, Academic All-State Award, Vype Magazine Athlete of the Month Award, Republic Bank Athlete of the Year Award, and is Assumption’s school record holder in the 1600 meter and 3200 meter races. While running at Centre, Ashley has received the SCAC Runner of the Week Award. Ashley loves spending time with her family, especially watching American Idol with her mom, playing Trouble with her grandparents, and playing with her new nephew, Riley.
