Luke Guhy is a Freshman at the University of Louisville majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Chemistry. He is well-involved around campus in organizations such as Freshmen LEAD, Sigma Phi Epsilon, and Speed School Student Council. Luke graduated as Valedictorian from Mayfield High School. He was a three sport athlete throughout his career playing football, basketball, and baseball. Playing quarterback, Luke played in two State Championships and was the Championship game MVP his senior year. He also had success on the court as the Cardinal's leading scorer and on the diamond as the star shortstop of the2011 Regional Championship team. Luke was also a member of the marching band percussion section and was selected three times to the All-District Symphonic Band. He was a 2010 Kentucky Governor's Scholar and 2011 National Merit Scholar.
Over the next three summers, Luke wants to do research in the field of alternative forms of energy. This may include traveling to Germany, Italy, Brazil, or possibly staying in the U.S. After earning his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from J.B. Speed School, he is hoping to either attend graduate school or do further research as a Fulbright recipient.
