William Menkhaus, Class of 2011

William (Billy) Menkhaus graduated from Dixie Heights High School in northern Kentucky. He plans on majoring in Civil Engineering at UofL’s JB Speed School of Engineering and potentially receiving a minor in a foreign language. Billy played football and baseball in high school and was also a member of the Dixie track and field team. As a high school student, he was involved in numerous student organizations including the Superintendent’s Advisory Committee, Student Vision Team, and National Honor Society. Billy was also very involved in Young Life, a Christian outreach organization to high school students. Billy was a Kentucky Governor’s Scholar and a National Merit Scholarship winner. In college he hopes to get involved with Christian ministry in the inner city as well as on campus and to use his summer enrichment projects to investigate and relieve global poverty.
