Jacqueline Orth, Class of 2011

University: University of Louisville

Jackie Orth graduated John Paul II High School 2011 as salutatorian. During her senior year of high school, she was treasurer of the Senior Class, secretary of Mu Alpha Theta, and a member of the National Honor Society. Throughout high school, Jackie was an active member of Academic Decathlon and swim team. In Academic Decathlon, she placed 2nd overall for the Honors division at state and received gold medals in math, economics, and a silver medal in the speech competition. Outside of school, Jackie worked as a swim instructor at a local pool, skated through the Ice Skating Institute for over 8 years, tutored local students, experienced over 100 hours of community service, and interned at the 417th Judicial District Court. She is also, proficient in Chinese and CPR certified. Jackie is majoring in Electrical Engineering at the University of Louisville and planning on minoring in Asian Studies and Math with the intention of someday becoming a patent lawyer. At U of L, Jackie is in Freshman Speed School Council, in Freshman LEAD, and a Shadow host. She also plans on mentoring at Jefferson County High School through the Go College Louisville program.
