Rachael Thomas graduated from Hopkinsville High School, where she was involved in National Honor Society, Beta Club, Student Council, Environmental Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Science Olympiad, and varsity softball and volleyball. She has placed at regional competitions in Science Olympiad and Academic Team, and placed state-wide in Business Communications for FBLA. She is a Governor’s Scholar, AP Scholar with Distinction, Commonwealth Ambassador, and recipient of the Woodman US History Award. She has worked as an intern for the mayor of Hopkinsville, and has volunteered extensively with her local 4-H Program and the Red Cross. She attended elementary school in Germany and has traveled to nine different European countries, so she looks forward to continuing these travels with the Brown Fellows Program. At U of L, she is involved with the Honors Program, Freshman LEAD, Global Initiatives, Kentucky Refugee Ministries, Spanish Club, and tutoring at a local elementary school. She is currently a pre-med student with a possible major in Anthropology and minors in Biology and Spanish.
